Drone Photography, Video and Mapping
- FAA licensed and fully insured, our fleet of drones is ready to capture what you need. From aerial mapping a large construction project to flying indoors. Together with our diverse team of professionals, we’ve filmed in warehouses, over high rises, and chasing speed boats. Your location is right next to the airport? No worries, we’re able to get clearance to fly nearly anywhere! If it’s not possible with drones, we have helicopter and vehicle mounts to make any location or shot happen.
Aerial Drone Mapping
- Aerial drone mapping is much more than just a beautiful photo that encompasses the whole project. By aligning the high resolution drone imagery with existing satellite maps you can see the view from above in photo realistic quality as you are planning out your project. This can help developers, surveyors and engineers as they decide where to build and route utilities and see where they may run into conflicts. Drones can also be used to capture well-crafted photography that can be included with your marketing content. They capture stunning views and allow everything to be seen in context of the surroundings and access points. All of this can be delivered as a single file with the data and information embedded with GPS location, photos, and mapping. Everything you need in an easy to navigate format. This is an accessible technology that comes at a much lower price point than helicopter footage.

Frequently Asked Drone Questions
Are you licensed and insured?
A: YES. We have been flying drones and remote vehicles since before the FAA required certification. One of the first licensed Part 107 certificate holders in Oregon and WA, we retain a current FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate as a commercial operator, and maintain current $2 Million general liability, as well as dedicated UAS liability insurance. How does image quality compare to a DSLR?
A: It is identical. We use a variety of drones and airframes, but fly only professional quality imaging equipment. Resolution, color and sharpness is directly comparable. We record both RAW photo and RAW video on Micro 4/3, Super 35 and Full Frame imaging sensors depending on project requirements. We do not use toy drones. If your project requires higher altitudes or flight in airspace that is difficult to receive permissions, we have been flying helicopter and fixed wing based aerials for over 11 years.Does weather affect your ability to shoot?
A: Yes and no. This can be a complicated answer. We have airframes capable of flying in nearly any weather, but achieving acceptable images can be difficult in poor weather. Rain spinners can keep the lens clean and dry in wet weather, but for general use, it’s just better (and less expensive) to simply wait for another time when it’s dry. Wind is usually the biggest enemy to a smooth flight, but we can fly in 25mph winds if absolutely necessary. Forward speed is decreased as we have to fight the wind, and flight times are appreciably decreased. Can you shoot in 4K?
A: While we can master and finish content in UHD or DCI 4k, there is often no need to do so, and it just takes up more time, storage, and computing power to process. A vast majority of the content online and broadcast is 1080p HD or less. Our standard workflow is to shoot original content in 4k, and edit and deliver in high bit-rate HD. This allows for more flexibility in post, makes your videos load faster online, and looks great on all devices. We are happy to work around your individual requirements if you need higher or lower resolution delivered content.
How high far away and high can you fly, and for how long?
A: Legally, as a commercial UAS operator we are limited to flight within visual line-of-sight, and maintaining altitude lower than 400ft AGL. These requirements mean that there is no solid number for how far we can fly, as it varies greatly depending on environment, location, and weather. Depending on the airframe, payload, flight conditions, altitude, and temperature, we can fly from approximately 10 to 25 minutes between battery changes. If you need longer duration drone flights, we do have tethered options available for unlimited flight times, but do keep in mind it restricts mobility to little more than hovering over a fixed location. Can you fly your drone from a boat?
A: Absolutely. Additional precautions have to be taken because the boats’ constant movement can cause all sorts of problems with built-in GPS sensors, but we have done this many times and have dedicated start-up and flight procedures to mitigate any problems. Can you shoot video on the ground too?
A: Yes, see our Video Production page for various video content that we’ve produced, including interviews, tv commercials, social media advertisements, time lapses, and high end real estate marketing. What should I expect in terms of turnaround time?
A: Every project is different, but we typically complete and deliver projects within 1 week to 2 months. If your project is simple and straightforward, we’ll finish it closer to the 1-2 week mark. If the final video has a lot of graphics, custom music and/or must go through an approval committee, you’re looking at a wide range of time from a few weeks to several months. .
